Foreword
The annual UGC Teaching Award was introduced in 2011 to recognise teaching excellence in the UGC sector. Supported by the UGC, the HKTEA was established in 2019 to further promote good teaching practices, nurture academic leaders with the capability and commitment needed to enhance teaching and learning, and foster a culture of recognising good teaching.
This collection of case studies compiled by the HKTEA aims to disseminate the good teaching and learning practices of recipients of the UGC Teaching Award since 2019. Each of the case studies is divided into two parts. The first part showcases the awardee’s teaching philosophy and the second part presents evidence-based materials highlighting the awardee’s achievements in one of the following areas: (a) impact of excellent teaching, (b) engagement and commitment in continuous professional development, (c) collaborative work and (d) any other area in which the awardee excels.
With the excellent practices of these outstanding educators documented and disseminated, it is hoped that teaching excellence will be further promoted in the UGC sector.
