Abstract
The University Grants Committee (UGC) has supported the eight UGC-funded universities in student support services. It has been covering the area of counselling, mental well-being and career planning and development to meet the needs of students. In 2020, UGC took initiatives to help university students with special education needs (SEN). The funding includes equipment, training, and inclusion activities. Furthermore, more funding was allocated to UGC-funded universities, extending substantial support to learning experiences customized to SEN students’ individual needs and promoting an inclusive campus culture. (University Grants Committee 2020)
The sharing session will reveal our academics’ practices and experience in supporting SEN student needs and inclusive culture on campus. It is pleased we invite four speakers who present their aspects and elements about backing and advancing the student learning experience. Prof Leung will share the SEN support at the Education University of Hong Kong. Dr Chan from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University will give us insights into his actual practices in the classroom. Prof Tang from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and Dr Yeung from the University of Hong Kong will show us their participation in students learning with hearing and visual impairments, respectively. Please join us and interact with our academics virtually.
